The BigMat International Architecture Award is back!

Special edition: BigMat’s 40th anniversary in Europe

Who will succeed Souto Moura as the winner of the BigMat International Architecture Award?

To celebrate BigMat’s 40th anniversary, the 2021 edition of the BigMat International Architecture Award will pay special attention to small-scale architecture projects that have contributed to creating quality spaces for inhabitants of participating countries: Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

It is important that the unprecedented circumstances facing the world since early 2020 are reflected in architecture and in the awards. For this special anniversary edition, BMIAA’21 will focus particularly on rewarding smaller-scale architectural interventions of exceptional quality that make people’s lives better and easier.

As in every edition, a prestigious jury made up of internationally renowned figures will be judging the projects:

Architect and founder of ARCHITEKTI BKPS architecture studio.
Representative for Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Alexandre Theriot

Nicola di Battista
Architect and editor of l’Architetto magazine.
Representative for Italy.

Inês Lobo
Architect and founder of the studio Inês Lobo, Arquitectos.
Representative for Portugal and Spain.
